Who we are
Neon Logbook (neonlogbook.com) is a free, independent fan project run by Richard Fleming in the United Kingdom. For this website, Richard Fleming is the data controller under UK data protection law. Contact: [email protected].
In short
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or forms. We don't ask for your name or email, and we don't sell personal data.
- Your checklist ticks stay on your own device.
- We use Google AdSense to show adverts. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, and they may personalise ads if you agree.
- If you're in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice first.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
What is stored on your device
Checklist ticks: saved only in your browser's local storage (localStorage). They are never sent to us or anyone else. To delete them, clear this site's data in your browser or uninstall the app.
Offline copy: to work offline, the app uses a service worker that keeps a copy of the site's own files in your browser's cache. This contains no personal data.
Advertising: Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense, a service from Google, to show adverts that help pay for the site. When an ad is shown, your browser connects to Google and its advertising partners. That means they can receive information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the page you're viewing and an approximate location.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Personalised ads: these are chosen using information about your interests and past browsing. Non-personalised ads: these are chosen using general information such as the page you're reading and your approximate location. They still use cookies or similar technologies, for example to limit how often you see an ad and to fight fraud.
- You can turn off personalised advertising from Google in My Ad Center (Google Ads Settings). You can also opt out of some other vendors' personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
To find out how Google uses information from websites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To see how Google uses advertising cookies, see How Google uses cookies in advertising. Google's own privacy policy also applies.
Your consent (UK, EEA and Switzerland)
If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, a consent message from Google (a Google-certified consent management platform) appears before any advertising cookies are used. You can:
- Consent to cookies and to the use of your data for personalised ads;
- Not consent, or choose which purposes and vendors you allow. You may then still see limited or non-personalised ads, as allowed by law and your choices;
- Change your mind at any time using the privacy and cookie settings link that Google's message adds to the site, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser so the message appears again.
Our legal basis for advertising cookies and personalised ads is your consent. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.
Hosting: Cloudflare Pages
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, run by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the address you requested. It may also set strictly necessary security cookies. We don't use this data to identify you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
International transfers
Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. They use legal safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and standard contractual clauses, or the UK–US data bridge where it applies.
Emails you send us
If you email [email protected], we use your email address and message only to reply, and we delete them when they're no longer needed. Our email is delivered through an email forwarding service.
Links to other sites
Our guides link to official sources and news sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and open only if you tap a link.
Children
The game this site is about is rated PEGI 18. This site is not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. We don't hold an account or profile about you, so most requests about ads are best made to Google using the links above. For anything else, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If how we use data changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top first.
